Default Car pops ount of 2nd gear

Hi all I have a 99 Sl2 5spd with almost 84,000 miles on it. Tonight after I got off of work I started driving down the street and stopped at a red light. When the light turned green I shifted from 1st to 2nd gear only to hear my have my car pop out of second and hear my engine rev. There was no grinding or anything like that and it goes into gear just fine, it just pops back out of 2nd gear. What could this mean? Is my clutch going bad? Any thoughts on how much this would cost to get fixed?

Nope it goes into gear every time. It will stay in gear for about 5 seconds and then it just pops back out no grinding no nothing it just wont stay.
