Default Car is running rumbly bumbly =[

Ive had a few issues with my car lately. it all started AFTER i jumped my friends honda passport. he thought the battery was dead but it was the alt that was bad. anyways..

that night when we drove home my gauges [reverse glow gauges] were flashing all funny. when i turned on the mood lighting, the gauges went back to normal. when i turned them off, they flashed again. whatever...

the next day driving to work it got worse. flashing airbag light, flashing ses light, flashing battery light, flashing everything >=[

thats when i ASSumed it was time for a new battery or altenator [which i have a pep boys lifetime warranty for]

a few days later, i turned my heater on and i smelled a paint thinner-ish smell. i thought nothing of it. i figured someone had painted in the area and it just got thru the vents [like the dead skunk smell i always smell here]. the smell hasnt gone away since.

then it happened. i drove my car to a friends house and turned it off. we talked for a while and when we were going to take off for a meet, my car wouldnt start! no door chime, nothing! i thought it was the battery or something.

we ended up pushing my car to his dads shop which was 2 blocks down and left it there overnight. i had to crash at his house since i live all the way in BFE. =[

the next morning i got in the car. door chime worked! i tried starting the car. it started. WTF factor: 10. =|

my friend said it could be my spark plugs. i drove to vatto zone, got some new spark plugs [DENSO], and came back. we put them in and presto, car was runnign better. but i STILL smelled that paint thinner-ish smell when i opened the vents for air/heat. =[

no longer than a few days later did i get the works. flashing ses, airbag, etc etc. the car was starting to piss me off >=[

the damn thing died on me again. no start! so i took my spark plugs out and noticed a liquid on one of the plugs. no bueno. i bought MORE spark plugs and this time i bought some new wires [BOSCH]. i figured the car would work fine. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! the damn thing runs on 3 cylinders now. something wasnt firing right..or something.

now im sh1t out of luck. a car that limps around [that i havent driven for 3 days], new spark plugs, a lifetime warranty on denso spark plugs, new BOSCH plugs, a damn DOHC motor i got for FREE sitting in the back [i dont have the $$ to put it in yet] and ive been walking everywhere. =[

anyone have any ideas? i started the car and my motor WITH new mounts all around is like..hula dancing in the engine bay. the car rumbles when i step on the gas [in neutral] and it seems like it has no power [no, i didnt drive it].

sad sad day for bobo

=[

SOHC or DOHC?
The liquid may be oil in the plug wells if DOHC which would be a leaking VC gasket. Which could be causing carbon tracking on the plugs and plug wires which would be the running on 3 cyl.

Check around for burnt wire insulation for the smell. Have a look inthe wiring harness from the ignition switch down the steering column.

Or just replace anything and everything.

Have you checked the battery cable tightness to the battery. Checked to see if the alt is charging properly. Any fuses gone open?
