Default Cassette keeps ejecting CD cassette adaptor from my discman

Didnt get much feedback on the audio forum so Ill try it here. The cassette plays tapes fine but ejects the CD cassette adapter for my discman. It plays the CD for a second and then ejects the cassette. I tried 2 adapters to see if the problem was with the adapter. No luck. Any ideas? I have the factory equalizer cassette. Thanks

if you're gonna have it for a while, you'd be better off getting a cheap Dual cd player or something, most places will install it for you for under 100 bucks. it'll fix the hassle and you can keep your stock speakers if you want to, only upgrade if you're gonna put an external sub and amp box in.

lol i didnt know anybody still used those walkman tape adaptors anymore

Hmm...

40 bucks for a Dual CD player +90 for install...total of 130.

or BestBuy 99 for a decent CD player + 30 for harness, mount kit, and antenna adapter, free install...total of 130. Hmm....

Not the smartest choice, Einstein.

Think. Check prices. Learn. Read. Just don't be so quick to post.

a 100 dollar cd player from Bestbuy is better than a walmart dual. especially since there's usually a warranty implied, and it's not craptacular...

And if you're gonna keep stock speakers, why upgrade to a sub and box? drown out the sh*ttyness?Really, stop posting and read a little more.

okay, wow, SOMEone's looking for something to fight about..

all i meant by that, something everyone cept you picked up apparently, was that he doesnt have to go out and get a 250 dollar pioneer triple cd flip down in the trunk to upgrade from his current situation.

dont you think he's smart enough to look around for the best price overall?

psht on you

It's academic now but I can tell you why it ejects the "tape".
the forward driving sprocket is turning but there's no gear in the "tape" and no tape in it either, and no gear in the second hole to turn, to turn the reverse drive sprocket forward. It thinks the tape is at the end. It then tries to turn around and play the other side but there's nothing there, so it ejects.
yeah go get a nice CD player. Get a mounting kit and a wiring adapter and do it yourself.
