Default Changing my coolant

OK, I figured it was high time I cleaned out my coolant again. Since I cheated lately and only replaced it with water over time. Anyhow, I plan to replace my hoses on this 10 year old car. Do you guys think I should do the coolant sensor while I have it emptied? Or leave it well enough alone since it is 10 and still kicking?

Since the system will be empty anyway..go ahead and change the ETCS (2 wire sensor) as a preventative measure. ($9+/-) Also REMOVE and throughly washout with soap and water the coolant reseivoir tank finishing with a rinse of clean water...you be AMAZED at the crap that will come out of it.

Argueably an aftermarket sensor will be fine, I have had good luck with them. Some techs swear by OEM sensors only. Just a matter of personal preferance I think. IF you go with an aftermarket sensor, remove it from the box BEFORE you pay for it and make sure the "Business end" that is inside the head is made of BRASS. The older "resin" sensors occasionally are still in the stores and are the one's subject to failure.
