code for antitheft radio in 1995 SC2??

Hi
My mother has a 1995 SC2, which she took to Midas for repair. After Midas finished with the car, she noticed that her radio did not have any power. She called Saturn and they told her that there is some code that needs to be entered somewhere in her car in order for her radio to work again. Saturn intends to charge her to input the code. Meanwhile, Midas stated that if they had the code, they could input it. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? If so, is this something that can be fixed without paying Saturn? Thanks.

When you say no power do you mean there is nothing lighting up on the radio? Is there a display on it saying "LOC"?
If "LOC" then you do need to get the anti theft code. You need to get that from Saturn. Unlees of course some who has owned the car before has set the code and left the four digit code some where in the car, owners manual or perhaps writen on the radio somewhere.

Thanks. It does say "LOC" and noone left her the code. I guess she has to take it to Saturn. Thanks for your assistance.

or buy an aftermarket radio that's nicer than the stock one - just a thought.

If it's his mom, i dunno if she cares enough to pay for it.

But you should go to midas and have them PAY saturn to get the code. It wasn't her fault, so why should she have to foot the bill?
