Default code for cd player

I've been looking at a CD player for my '99 SL1 (I have a cassette in there now)....but.....what if the used ones selling on eBay are protected by a previous 'code'? Any way to get around that?
Thanks.......

if someone steals a radio with the face plate missing, its useless to them anyway. The newer stereos with detach face are all useless w/out the face. Look at the back of a faceplate next time you see one. It should have gold plates or terminals on the back of it, if they dont make contact with the stereo itself, its useless either way. That faceplate is made specifically for that stereo. And be ware of ebay, too many pple are complaining of paying but not getting their products.

But....if the faceplate is there together with the whole unit.....and the whole thing was pulled from a wreck (radio in good condition)....if the radio had an anti-theft code programmed........can that code be by-passed? I;m just worried that these units with anti-theft features would be useless to anyone else except the person who inserted the code.
This particular fellow on eBay has lots of positive feedbacks, no negatives. I presume it's fairly safe with him. (GULP!)

Actually, I've never seen a stereo that has a code in it like that. What happens, you have to re enter the code when disconnected from the battery?...

I know what he is talking about. I do not know of any aftermarket units with this feature. I didnt know of any saturn units that came with this feature either. I would say your best bet is to e-mail the seller and ask him. Maybe he will include the code, or I imagine there has to be some way to reset the code, such as a battery inside the radio to remove or something the dealer can do.

Saturn has the theft deterent code radios. Once you get it into your car any Saturn service center should be a ble to help you to unlock it if it's locked.
