Actually the low coolant sensors rarely fail. You must replace the coolant resevoir tank to replace the sensor. The good news is you probably don't. You can drain out the coolant (about 1 gallon will do no need to drain all of it) remove teh resevoir tank and clean it out using good ole dishsoap and water or (better) Castrol super clean and water followed by several clean water rinses. You will hear the sensor's float rattling around inside the tank but MAKE NO ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE SENSOR! After it's clean, put it back on and top up the coolant, 99 times out of 100 this will fix you right up for just some time and a little "soap" and water.
