Default Cooling fan not kicking on period?Help please...

I have taken the time to search threw the forum to learn what I could learn from others who may have had a simalar problems.I found one post that was almost the same, read threw all 4 pages an their was never a resolve to the problem
Before I discuss the problem,I just want to emphasize[sp?] one thing,I bought this car off a junkyard for $400.00,after a local car lot could'nt figure out some problems. Some body threw any old fuse they wanted into bothe fuse blocks inside an out under the hood.
I went threw an replaced fuses with propper fuses,an resolved almost all of the problems the car was having except two.No reverce lights[manual trans],But I am certain I can figure that one on my own.An the head ache problem!!!!!!Cooling fan won't turn on when turning ac on or during normal running temps, which I understand can be pretty high according to the gage in my first generation model.I plan on changeing the temperature sending unit and the coolant temperate sender.I looked at the coolant temperature sender an the plug looked fine[I took the plug competely appart],but the sender has a green ring arround it?
Question? If after replacing these to parts,If my fan is still not kicking on either way, what direction do I go?Because I want it fixed the right way not a rig fix. Thanks again for all that have helped me.Take Care all,Eric

As always year and model can be more than helpful.

Reverse lights not working is likely the reverse swtich.
Temp sensor is always the first best thing to check/replace when dealing with the cooling fan not coming on.
further things to check would be the fuse, relay and wiring. Try direct connecting power to the cooling fan to make sure thatit is working.

Replaced the sender an the switch.Fan still not coming on when you turn the air on.So I tried somthing an well the fan kicked on.In a 92 sc over by your battery box an fuse box you have an airconditioning line that has some sort of switch screwed into it,I unplugged the switch while the car was running went inside an turned the air on an jumped the 2 wires with a paper clip an bam the fan came on.Question? Is this the high low switch?Could this be bad?Or could the switch be good an just not be turning on due to being low on freon? Thanks in advance for any help,Take Care,Eric

Don't chase your tail for the fan coming on with the AC. If the AC system is not working, ie low charge, then cooling fan will not come on with the AC being turned on.
Run the engine and wait for the fan to come on. It may take the temp gauge nearly going into the red before it will turn on.

Cooling fan kicking on.AC pressure switch was fine just needed O-ring replaced.Switched system from R-12 to R-134A,Added new oil an freon system kicking on an off fine an blowing nice cold air.Shew[wiping forehead],lol. Finally fixed an working properly without no rigging!!!!!Thanks to everyone who helped me,Some of these things may have seemed like no big deal, but after going threw collage an working at the dealership[chevy],before my car accident,I just like everything to be working propperly.Because somthing I have learnt in my journey in the automotive world is one problem not fixed can turn into another bigger problem in the end costing one even more money! This forum is a great information sight to help people who need it or just dont quite understand how somthing works. An I for one am very thankful,It is here.Everyone Take Care,Eric
