Default Disassembling the Sunroof

Looking for some tips on disassembling my sunroof. For some reason, it seems the support arm for the window on the driver side has come off the track that opens/closes the window. Not sure if the arm needs to be replaced....can't even really tell what's going on w/ the window still on.

Would be nice to fix....car smells like a fishbowl.

Most years there are very limited service parts for the sunroofs. Basicly if some thing on them is broken the entire sunroof assembly gets replaced.

Default Sunroofs...

I drive a 96' 2nd Gen SC2 and just noticed this afternoon that the metal frame around the sunroof on the inside of the car has rusted out a good deal. The roof isn't faulty or leaky *as of yet*, but I'm wondering if the whole thing would need to be replaced as your post info suggests or would you happen to know if the metal molding can just be replaced by itself?

If not, then what I'm thinking about doing as an alternative to replacement is, seeing that the rust isn't that bad yet, maybe I could use a dremel tool to grind out the rust, stick a neon in there to wrap around the entire molding of the sunroof and use a tube of black silicone adhesive to *glue* it in place to cover any revealing metal. I think I could do a nice enough job and no one would even notice what I did to the sunroof.

Any suggestions or improvements to my idea are greatly appreciated.

The glass is something that should be available as a seperate item from the rest of the sunroof module.
