Default Dogbone question

Ok, so I am missing my driver side dogbone mount. I have the OEM lower dogbone on the passenger side, and the torque axis mount on the top of the engine. I couldn't find the bracket/dogbone anywhere so I had to order the part. It will be here Tuesday.

Will driving around with 1 dogbone (the one under the battery tray) damage the engine? I'm still not driving it hard, and I don't want to stop driving it, because I REALLY want to break the fugger in.

Thanks,

Bill Garrett

The one that bolts to the transmission? I wouldn't be driving around at all with out it in there. Actually I wouldn't drive with out any of the locating mounts in place. All of these mount are stopping things from moving out of position to far. If things go to far out of position then there is a chance that things will start to break due to abnormal stresses. Leave the old one in until the repalcement gets to you. Something being bewtter than nothing.

naw dood, take the other ones out too. you dont really need em. then. you want to weld solid metal bars from the engine to the chassie, this will provide the maximum ammount of power to the wheels cause none will be lost in engine twist.

all joking aside. DO NOT drive the car around. like ssicarman said, they are there to keep your stuff in place. now, instead of the load being distributed to 3 points, its now only 2, causeing them abnormal stress, granted they were designed to withstand this stress in the event of a mount breaking. but only till the problem can be resolved. get that fixed asap and find another mode of transportation... what about the bike you were going to get since you keep BREAKING YOUR CAR????
