door pin switch

2001 sc1 door pin switch

i seem to be having some trouble with it.. mainly, the interior light says on, or comes on when driving, if you open the door and slam it, it seems to work momentarily, or if you just reach over and push the pin in.. .that also works..

tonight, it got alittle worse, and the car wouldnt lock because it thought the doors were open.. so..

can i just splice the two wires together to make it seem closed, would this have negative consequences. and.. is it possible to buy just that switch? and anybody have an idea of how much that plastic switch is?

You can get the door switch from Saturn. Don't know how much it would be.

twisting the wires together would probably be a bad idea. I imagin ei tis a N.O. switch so if you twisted them together it would be as if the door was open.

lol, then i could just unplug that little harnes..

actually, i think your right.. i think the dome light goes off when that harness is unpluged..

it was kinda embarrasing today.. i was waiting for a table at cracker barrel (outside) and we hear a saturn horn go off.. im like.. humm.. that door switch has been acting up..

yup.. it was mine..
