Default Electrical problem... BIG electrical problem

Notation: this is now in technical issues.. not in styling.. i just cut and paste it cause i didn't know there was a technical issues section.
well i didn't know where to put this so i'm putting it in styling and if the mods wanna move it well that's their decision. well i recently installed some reverse indiglo guages (and boy are they pretty) but something went horribly wrong. about an HOUR into recalibrating the needles (i couldn't get the speedo and tacho to match!!) i smelt this weird frying smell coming from the back and my speedo and tach don't work..... *ahem* well i've been talking to nitrodizzid about this and he can't figure out what's wrong w/him (just over the internet... he lives in hawaii for cripes sake). i tried to see if electricity was coming through the wire that goes to the tach and there's NO electricity going to it or the speedometer. also my SES light should come on (cause of my intake) and it doesn't either....... and the light that's to the faaaarrrr left of the warning light cluster is on.. if you wanna know what it looks like it's a lightbulb underneath what looks to be a guage.... and that warning light is NOWHERE in the manual.... and saturn of the permian basin charges 65 bux for a diagnostic fee!! so i just figured i'd see if you guys could help pinpoint the problem... wow that was a damn long post.... thnx a lot!!

Umm..if you had the stink of fried electricity...that means that you have a short somewhere.

Either the guages were hooked up improperly or you ran a screw through a wire when reinstalling the dash componants.

Look around your wiring for any place that looks burnt or perhaps for a peirced wire.

Not a good thing to let the smoke out of anything. If you do then it stops working. Like OX says start looking for something that is burnt. Have you checked for burnt out fuses? If you find any then you know which circuit to look at.
