Default Exhaust

Is the resinator an important part, can it be removed and not cause any problems?

It can be removed but if you get a cat back exahust it may make your car sound like a pissed of bumble bee at higher rpms. A good replacement for a resinator is a glasspack. It will help in making your exhaust sound more deep and not ricey.

He is exactly right. I have a 02 SC2 and I replaced from the cat back with a 2 1/4in pipe. It sound like **** until I put a DynoMax Thrust Glasspack in place of the resinator. Now it is REALLY deep and loud. It is great. You will love it.

I got one put on my car because without it I couldnt stand my exhaust which is a Magnaflow street series muffler with 2.25" cat back. With the resonator it sounds a lot better. I might get a bigger one though to make it even quieter its still loud once the engine gets warm.
