Default FAST engine removal

Whats the most efficient way to remove a saturn engine so I can do it right but fast. Ive dont two swaps but Ive taken my time removing everything and went in a precise order that chiltons recommends...

Now Im going to u-pull-r-parts to try and get a nice engine cheap, I want to know a simple breakdown of how to jump at it getting that SOB the fastest keeping in mind I dont care about anything else but the engine assembly, everything else I couldnt care less if it broke while taking it out...

1) Cut all wiring and hoses
2) Unbolt the tranny
3) Unbolt motor mounts
4) Yank it out

Short and sweet it sounds bad but all you care about is the engine.

Depends on what kind of pulling equipment you can get to the car. From the top cut, hack, slash everything attached to the engine and pull the engine out. Other way would be to cut, hack, slash and then undo the engine cradle and lift the car up while the engine stays on the ground. The engine comes out the top or the bottom, the time gets involded in detaching it from the car and not damaging what you don't want damaged.

I can do an engine swap in my Saturn in less than 8 hours now, including numerous smoke and coffee breaks, and nothing gets wrecked.

Here's the breakdown: (if you're pulling at a yard that doesn't care.

Cut hoses, wires, extraneous crap. Pull wheels, brakes, drop lower control arms, yank halfshafts. Unbolt mounts, lift engine and tranny together.

If you're hacking and cutting, you'll be able to pull it off in about an hour, maybe less.

Ha! I have you all beat!

I helped a guy pull one last week because he seemed a little lost and he was alone.

The car was already on stands with the wheels remove, but everything else was intact. We dropped the entire cradle out the bottom of the car, then pulled just the engine off of it. Start to finish in 35 minutes with only a small K-Mart tool kit and a rusty pair of tin snips. I da man!

How'd you get those cradle bolts to move with a K-Mart tool kit?

get a recip saw, and go to town on the fenders, and inner fender wells, remove whole front clip leaving entire engine exposed....unbolt and remove engine 30 minutes tops.
