Two types of clips holding the shifter cables on/at the trans. The ones that hold the cables to the trans case to stop them from moving around are just pushed in and kind of locked in by a detent. The small clips at the ends of the cables at the shifter tower have a part of the clip that loops over the shaft that the clip goes on. Lift up on the looped part and then slide it back so the loop is sitting on the shaft and then just lift it up and off.
