Default fuel filter replacement

Have any of you don't this? If so how did you go about doing it? The book I have says disconnect the battery. take off the fresh air intake hose. remove air cleaner or intake duct. rap a rag around the fuel test port fitting at the lower rear of engine. remvoe cap and connect pressure gauge SA9127E. install bleeding hose after the system pressure is bled remove the gauge. etc.

I have no idea what the fuel test port fitting is. I have don't have a tool gauge SA 9127E. Is all this necessary? Or can I do it another way? Please let me know.
THanks.

which car do u have

on my 92 sl2 all i had to do was disconnect the filter and put the new one in (well its slightly more complicated than that but pretty self explanitory i got a "kit" type of thingie comes with the special tool to disconect the filter and the new filter) but i didnt have to bleed anything but there is fuel in the line when u disconnect it so have a rag or 3 handy especially if ur under the car....

i forget if i had to take off the air intake duct but im pretty sure i did u prolly dont have to but for the amount of agrivation its gonna cause compared to the amount of time it takes to disconnect it take it off.....

I got it all set up. I probably should have got the filter from saturn. The one from kragen was missing the clip locks. The one from kragen also doesn't fit into one of the hose mounting clamps that the factory one fits into. Fortunately I don't see any leaks yet from reusing the old lock clip thingy.
