Default Ghost reving my car up.

For some reason my saturn is reving by itself. The floormats aren't on the pedal or anything, the throttle cable seems fine, I don't know what it could be.

The car will be just sitting there, idling fine, and then all of a sudden it'll rev itself up to about 2100 rpms for a couple of seconds and then go back down to idle.

Anybody had a similiar problem before?

I have a hotshot intake, exhaust, 92 header, and wires and plugs if that makes a difference. And a slightly bored throttle body, although I didn't go anywhere near the actual throttle plate.

How high is it revving and what was the last modification you made before it started doing this?

Hmm.....thanks guys. I'm gonna check for a vaccum leak first thing. Then I may have to go into that other stuff. Thanks for the info.

Post if you find the problem because my o1 sc1 is having the exact same problem... has for a while now I just stopped caring plus if you turn the car on and off quickly it goes away.

ECTS is a good place to start, as is checking for a vacuum leak.

How about the idle air control solenoid? That's a slight possibility if the other things don't show results.

ECTS is like $13, I replaced mine when having problem with rough idle and ****... I also replaced the FPR, Fuel filter, MAP sensor and EGR valve... Thats because those were all giving problems according to the obd reader, and thats all I need with the turbo going on, inconsistant fuel =)
