Default heat shield question


is there a heat sheild for the exhaust manifold for a 98 SOHC 1.9L engine. my intake pulls in the heat from it and cause my caar to run pretty hot.

Are you saying that your intake is ingesting the hot air in the engine bay and causing your car to run hot? Highly doubtful. Sounds like you have a cooling system problem of some sort.

No heat shield for the exhaust mainfold on the Saturn S-series cars. Drawing air from under the hood should not be able to effect the engine temp one way or the other.
Potentially having disturbed/damaged something while installing the intake is a possibility. Check the PCM coolant temp sensor and wiring to see if you shifted anything around there.
Perhaps you have just hit hotter weather? Perhaps the coolanat tmep sensor has coincidently decided to go bad.

it only heats up in traffic but i guess that is normal bacause the car is not able to pull in cooler air when it is not moving
