Default High Idle/Engine miss/SES

2001 Saturn SL1. Been running fine at about 86,000k The car started idling high and it sounds as if there is a miss at idle. The car drives fine for the most part, I don't even think i notice the miss. Also when you shut off the car it sputters to a stop. I had my heavy duty mechanic plug in his sensor and it comes back with cylinder 1 missfire. I have changed the plugs, still no dice. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Board.

2001 SL1. Very good chance that you have a leaking intake manifold gasket if it has never been replaced before. Making sure that you have checked the plug wires to be sure that they are ok. A quick spray of air intake cleaner along the intake to head area will let you know. If the intakeis ok you should see no chaneg in how the engine runs. Change=leaking intake gasket.
