Default idle speed control? wtf

ummm. what is idle speed control? or something like that?

my car was dropping into low rpms and the lights would dim and the car would shut off. i took it to my cousins boyfriends shop and the guy who worked on it said i had no oil and that could be the main issue. ha, so i had to pay him to put oil in my car when i could have did it my damn self.

this happened in the past 2 days, today my car is still dropping into the low rpms. Hasnt shut off yet.

Alot of people said its idle speed control or something. hmmm what is that and how much will it be to fix??

Maybe talking about the idle air control valve? To clean it (which is probably all it needs), just remove the throttlebody (how to: http://www.spocnorth.com/HowToSite/D...eries-Main.htm <look partway down the page), then take the valve & sensors & stuff off, and spray everything down with throttlebody/carb cleaner, and wipe down til it's all clean. Our cars often need throttlebody cleanings after a year or two anyway, so that'll be good to do.

All you need for this is a socket or two, ratchet, and the cleaner.
