Default intake and air filter problems

I recently baught a HotShot powerstack intake from sps. It came with a k&n air filter. My car has been booging down off the line and at the end of the gears tremendously. At first I thought I needed new injectors but I had a friend look at it (who has a hooked up accord) and he said i wasnt getting any air to the airfilter so therefor the intake wasnt getting the air it needed. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

It isn't gettting air to the filter, what? How is that even possible? Anyways the intake has nothing to do with it.

Right. The intake won't do that. Unless you have something laying over the filter blocking it, its getting plenty of air.

Did you connect the IAT sensor? You will have to drill a hole in the intake or stick it in the filter. If there is a large difference between the temperature that is actually being used and the temperature that is being reported to the PCM by the IAT sensor, then you may encounter bogging like you describe.

The filter is between the batery box and the fuse box, it doesnt seem to be getting all the air it needs. I know I connected the IAT sensor, do you know what else could be causing this?

Three more things:

Did you make sure you tightened down the pipe connectors?

Is the hose from the cam cover to the intake connected? If so, is it ripped or split (can happen sometimes because of the engine hoist hook)?

Did you try re-setting the PCM (disconnect the negative battery cable for about 20-30 minutes and then reconenct to throw the PCM into learning mode)?

Also, do you happen to have a pic of the filter placement?

wtf? your intake is a vacum. one way or another it's gonna get air. even with the dirtiest of filter your mpg will suffer. hmm....how does the car start?

the only reason i think it is the intake is that it didnt do it before i had the intake so i just figured it had something to do with it.
