Default Joey-anyone help retaining clips on shifter cables

okay my dad is askin me to help him change the shifter cables in my sisters 95sc2....well the plastic retaining clip that goes to the shifter is broken...so my dad went out to saturn and they would only sell him the entire cable, anyway is there any way i can take the black plastic clip off of the new shifter cable and put it on the old one? it would really save a lot of time and hassle...i dont wanna force it out or do something that might break it cause theyre new shifter cables and i only got 1 clip

The replacement cables are the ones that have the bolts to tighten things up for through the firewall. Just an all around pain in the axx job isn't it.

yea i drove to saturn to have them tell me that the cables they gave me would work...it wasnt too much of a pain to do, but there were little things that just werent explained very well in the haynes manual and a lot of tight spaces to work in with no lift...

see, this is why we invented the never break shifter grommet, then when i released the info on satspeed all i got was ****ed with...
the grommet we invented totlaly replaces that peice of **** plastic one that is the cause of 99% of failures, BUT, instead of replaceing the whole cable (you should have taken my advice and went to a scrapyar and pulled out just a grommet) you can use a pick to CAREFULY pull out the new grommet then squeeze the ****er into the old cables.
