Default juped PCM now need help to decode


well after reading how to diagnose the pcm on my car i did it a couple minutes ago. first it flased code 12 like you guys said it will then it flashes like this.......flash flash flash pause flash flash..... 3 flashes in a row pause then 2 flases then it did it again. what code is that for. also the radiator fan turned on after not turning on ever in hot temps i have the obd 1 codes from saturn fans but i cant figure out what the code is here is what they have to help with the codes

i think you wrote too fast. so is it a code 32? also are you saying the fan came on when you turned the key to check the codes? if so i think all cars do that in order to make sure the fan operates, i know my dads escort does that but i havent checked my car yet

i was in a rush typing i thought that it was 32 do you if it is or not I wasnt sure and the fan did come on when i jumped it and turned to run. but it doesnt turn on when the engine gets hot so would it be the ects

well i dont think so since when you jumped the system it activated the fan, but i could be wrong. but when i jumped my dads car the fan kicked on and everything is fine on it.

is the ects located in the exhaust manifold what is that sensor there we might replace it and see if thats the problem

ok so it is code 32 erg system fault where is the erg valve and where can i buy a new one to fix the problem if its expensive to get a new one then how would I clean it

I have writen up some diagnostics for the vacuum operated EGR valve. Do a search of the Board and you should find them.

1. There is an edit button for a reson, so you dotn have to make 5 posts ina row.. LoL

2. "is the ects located in the exhaust manifold what is that sensor there we might replace it and see if thats the problem" guessing at parts, especially if you dont know what it is, is a very bad way to diagnose and solve problems. Just like in this case, the sensor in the exhaust manifold is an O2 sensor. Dont just replace things to replace them, especially when you dont know what they are or what they do.
