do this VERY CAREFULLY, lock the parking brake, have a freind start car, put in drive and keep foot on brake, you carefully snoop around while car is gargling, check underneath, that sounds more like a bad cat converter to me, they wil not make this noise usally in neutral or park, its when in drive, with the brake on, such as when sitting at a light that the peices will rattle around making a gargling sound.
it is located basically under the console of the interior, so go to the passneger side and lsiten underneath you can also tap or kick them to listen for any lose peices but if it is the cat the above test will help the average laymen pinpoint it down.
