Default Little questions

Just a couple things

#1 Anyone know of a way to remove (or repair) light scratches and little rock nicks on a windshield?

#2 '95-'96 front bumper...the two flimsy holes that bolt up with your fenders into I think the core support. Most I've seen have been broken(ripped) Any quick fixes?

#3 Headlight lids..Mine seem to adjust themselves out of whack quite often, anyone had this problem and fixed it?

Thanks

I'm not sure about #2 or 3, I have a first gen. saturn, but as far as the windshield nicks, try going to a motercycle shop, and buying novus plexiglass polish. It has some abrasive in it, and removes small scratches from most glass I've tried it on, but I'm not sure about window glass. There are 3 different stages, depending on how abrasive you need it. It won't hurt your glass, so I think it's worth a try, for 5 or 6 dollars.

Appreciate it, anything's worth a try. I called a windshield place and they said they can do it, but it'd be cheaper to get a new windshield. Point being, I'm sure it's possible, just not sure how.

I went to a auto glass shop and they drilled the area of the crack at the botom of the chip to reduce the stress concentration and hopefully stop the crack propagation, then they filled this with epoxy I believe (injected under pressure). $25 CAN (US$1. That was 4 years ago with plenty of "thermal cycling" courtesy of the canadian environment.

They don't warranty this and they say the succes of the procedure depends on the shape of the nick/chip.

Well actually I'm just trying to fix nicks (pits?), not chips, cracks or anything like that. Just the little pits that you get all over your windshield from rocks that when the sun hits them they blind you. Hard to explain really, but maybe that helps. Thanks for the help though none the less..
