Default Marvel Mystery Oil

Hello Everyone,

I have been lurking here and have read posts that say you should use a certain amount of MMO and after a short period of time you should change your oil. The bottle doesn't say anything about how long to leave it in. I would like to be able to leave it in a day, possibly two. Will I be causing any problems for myself leaving it in that long ? I would be going from Washington to Baltimore and back (maybe 100miles, or so.). I would think that would give it time to do some good. Am I worrying too much about nothing ?

I have never used the stuff before. A little advice on its use will be very much appreciated.

Thank You,

Wayne

Argueably you can leave it in forever...meaning until the next oil change. Some folks even add it to the "new" oil similiar to any other oil additive. MMO is essentially an oil and/or fuel enhancer, with many other usefull uses discovered over the years. Your oil on draining will be exceptionally black as MMO is an excellant carbon and varnish solvent, the reason why so many Saturn owners are MMO fans. Fear not the carbon is essentially harmless to the engine's internals unless combined with dirt or at exceptional levels. Once you get into the MMO habit your next few oil changes will "blacken up" the clean quicker as well. This situation will improve within the next few changes at which time you may start to notice your oil actually staying cleaner longer.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about that stuff too......I have never used it before either, but I will now! I can't imagine the carbon build up on my 250K mile engine!

depends on who you ask, me I would say "yes" if you only put ~1 qt or so, the stuff is also used as a combustable agent in some senero's (worked for me with a 76' Chev engine starting issues) but others might say otherwise

yes, but only add 2-3 cups iof leaving in for more then a day, i gop two days tops on really dirty engines then wait till the next chnage and do the procedure again, if you add a quart you can overfill the oil which is bad.
