Default more bogging out for the sleeper =(

okay so this is progressively getting worse...

when i hit the gas from a stop, especially with heavy load (almost always with a/c on...it also gets worse with more people in the car) the car will bog out and feel like its gonna turn off...when im makin a turn (im guessin cause the p/s puts load on the engine too) the car has turned off....

anyway everyone told me to do a few things..and i did...got new plugs, put like half a can of t.b. cleaner, changed oil/filter, cleaned out reusable air filter... well this worked for a few days and then the problem gets back

here is what some people have told me....having very little backpresure in ur exhaust (which i do) will cause the o2 sensor to screw up and they said that it effects egr or something and then causes the ignition to retard...aka spark knock or pinging right? anyway im guessin theres 5 things i could do to fix this...1) someone told me about an o2 simulator..from casper electronics...will this fix the problem?...2) do you think i need more spark (new wires?) 3) block off egr? 4) buy a new o2 sensor (but then would it break again?) 5) get a muffler

anyone know if any of these will work or have any other ideas???

by the way i have a '93 sl2 (obd-1, it says on casper electronics its for obd2) i have an intake and very little backpressure in exhaust, no cat, no muffler... just resonator 2 1/4' tubing and a cc collector insert where the cat used to be, and side exit tip (none of that axle back piping)

thanks...
marcelo

by the way i always use 93 chevron and the bogging occurs around 1200-2000 rpms and when boggin will drop down to 4-500 rpms or so

Sounds like the IAC might be defective. I had the same problem with the AC on, it felt like it was going to stall and had no power, but mine just needed a good cleaning of the TB.

Not for sure on your car, but on my '93 SC1 it's in the throttle body. I'll check and see.

now the bogging has changed...i just got back from driving...i refilled my tank with 89 octane instead of 93....well the bogging at low rpms has now decreased...it still bogs a little bit but not that much...problem now is when i floor it, the car does several little bogs untill about 5000 rpms

im starting to think my fuel pump is going bad or the filter needs a change....ima tear the ****er down tomorrow...

anyway anyone with any other advice ..plz help!

Yep, the fuel pump will do that too. I'd try that first since that's a cheap thing to fix.
