Default motor mounts

hey all

the upper motor mount is busted on my wife's car

would it be a good idea to go ahead and replace all of the mounts?

also - I heard about a TSB regarding the mounts from 92 - 02 S-Series cars - does the TSB provide any benefit (i.e. replacement)? the car is a 96 sc2...

thanks!

sorry, only a true recall entitles you to a replacement, TSB just says there was a problem with it or something that needed to be noted.

You can if you want but most of the time the upper engine mount is the only one that is gone bad. It holds up the front end of the engine trans assembly and takes the back and forth motion as well. The only other supporting mount is the lower trans one and it tends to last a long time. Saturn will have their newest and most updated one, it s the solid rubber block one. If your car has the same type rather that the "saddle" style one all you will need is the mount and new pinch nuts. If you have the saddle one you should replace the mount, studs and nuts.
