Default MysTerious buzzing noise coming from under the hood.

Whenever I make a stop in my car it makes this small buzzing sound coming from under the hood. Im thinkin it may be my power steering pump makin this funny sound but it sure gets annoying fast. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before or could help me get rid of this annoying noise everytime I come to a stop on the road.

Does it do it any time that the brake is applied, or only while you are still in motion? If it's any time you push on the brake, you could have someone sit in the car pushing the brake while you listen to the noise.

Yes i have tried that before but can't really locate the exact location of the noise, basically all i know is that its coming from somewhere under the hood. And yes it only does it when the brake is applied and the car comes to a full stop.

Seems like there might be some sort of electric boost for the brakes. Might check your alternator - it could be stressing out.. With the car running, check for volts across the battery terminals. Should be 13.5V or more. Might check it with the brakes applied, too.

The noise is most likely the transmission solenoids. Listen for the noise and change the trans gears--P-R-N etc-- and see if the noise is si9milar but changes with the gears. It will likely do so.

It makes the noise with the changes of gears. Would you consider this something that could be just left alone or a more serious problem waiting to happen?.
