Default P0442 Keeps coming back

2000 Saturn SL2
73,000 miles

I keep getting the P0442 code. I reset the car's computer and reinstalled the gas cap. This is the 3rd time the light came on. My next step (probably today or tomorrow) is to buy a new gas cap and reset the computer to see if the code comes back.

If it comes back on again then what do I do?

Thanks

I changed the gas cap out yesterday and the light did not kick back on... Is it normal to have the gas caps just go like that?

I guess I spoke too quickly. The light just kicked on last night as I was driving home from work. Same code again, this time it took about 5 days and 100 miles later before it kicked on. The guy at AutoZone thinks it MIGHT be the Catalytic Converter? So after that I stopped by at a local garage and they said it could be a charcoal filter. Does this sound about right for a car with 73,200 miles?

It's down to checking the hoses for me. What on a Saturn seems to go around 70,000 - 80,000 miles?

Thanks

Okay now im down to 3 things since the light came back on. Charcoal Canister, Solenoid, or Vacuum leak.

I checked the connections on the canister and they seem connected. Now how do I go about troubleshooting the Solenoid or Vacuume leak?

Thanks

I'm just hoping I can reset the computer before inspection and hope it doesn't go on as I go through.
