Ok, recently my car has been making a pingy-rattling noise when idling. Once the car gets warmed up its a little quieter but not much. My dad says it sounds like a cam bearing--I have the DOHC. I just wanted to see what the gurus thought.
i dont know if its the same but my 97 dohc has been making a knocking noise at idle and while under light acceleration, but at full throttle is gone. im thinking its a rod knocking because ive checked and changed the oil a couple times since it started, oh god i hope it isnt what i think it is because that means at the very least i need a rebuild if not a whole new shortblock
ok, I just realized that when the clutch is pressed down--the noise is much louder and more prominent. My dad took a look and his bet is that its the Clutch Release Bearing.
