Default power package probs-HELP!

this weekend i swapped the power windows and locks out of my 97 sl2 wreck and into my good 97 sl2. everything went fine except for one problem. i need one of those big green 30 fuses in the underhood fuse block in spot #1 but when i tried to put a fuse in there was no metal clips to hold the fuse. anybody have any bright ideas for me. do i need a whole new fuse box? will i need anything else? thanks.

Buy a fuse holder and place it outside of the fuse box, or crimp some female spade connectors on the wires and connect them directly to the fuse if they will fit.

I dont see why this wouldnt work as long as you can find a fuse holder for that size, or equivilant fuse with matching holder (fuse / holder for amp wiring?)

Default POWER

i thought about that but i don't know which wires go to that fuse. there's so many that go into the box but they don't seem to be traceable to the fuses.

Swap everything out of the donor car. It may be a bit of a pain to swap the enitre wiring harnesses from car to car but then you will have everthing that you need. I suspect that it could be easier than trying to wire in some thing your self.

i did swap all the wires out of the old car for the power stuff, even the inside fuse box. i can't use the underhood box though because it was damaged in the wreck.

I would assume this wire is supplying the main power to your windows. You could track the wire farther back in the car to someplace you made a connection with the new actuators. Put the fuse there, then run the other side of the fuse to the battery or the power bolt on the under hood fuse box or wherever you want. Since you installed all of the power parts, I am guessing you know where the other end of this wire is. I hope this all makes sense.

If the damage is not to severe you may be able to unbolt the wiring harness connecters from the fuse block. If not then pull out what ever wires that you need from the harness and use them.
