Default Prying the Headlights Apart with a Prybar?!

alright, well i haven't resorted to a prybar, but i found that taking the 3 clips off the top of the headlights on 97 sl2 does nothing, as the front plastic seems to be glued to the back. i remember us talking about cleaning the inside of the front with rubbing alcohol in a previous post, but i dont want to just throw some in there, swish it around and let it evaporate. heck, how does the whole assembly come off?

*thanks

Why are you taking them apart? You should be able to change the bulb without removing the assembly from the car, let alone taking it apart...

SL's don't have sealed beams...

well i have a lot of oxidation filming on the inside, i suppose from the salty air and i'd like to clean them. obviously i've changed the bulbs from behind but thats not what i'm after. even if i can take the entire housing off the car and swish some rubbing alcohol in there, but i'd like to be able to take the front off and clean it than have to stick a toothbrush in the little hole in the back and then let it all evaporate.

OK I gotcha. I wouldn't take them apart if they're glued together, they'll probably never seal properly again. Your best bet is to fill it with cleaning solution and let it soak.
