rough idle 93 SL2 I have hooked up a scan tool {tech 1} to help me figure out my high idle {1500rpm} during deceleration and rough idle when the car comes to a complete stop. With the scan tool reading timing, at idle the scan tool is reading -15 to +20 and all points inbetween,constantly changing, the rougher the idle the more erratic the reading, it smoothes out as I increase the rpm's, the higher the rpm the higher the advance timing. Is this sound like a timing chain that is in need of repair? is the SL2 an interfearance engine? Will the valves be damaged if the timing chain or gears go? I posted 2 days ago and stared that I have changedmany parts. thanks in advance |
