Default RPMs

ok the saturn (01 saturn sl1 with SOHC)

1.9 litre I4

After highway driving when coming to a stop, the engine idles high (1100-1200 RPM) after highway driving. After 15 minutes of city driving, the engine revs become back to normal .. hrm. do you guys know why this might be happening? Would I need to clean out the throttle body, or would there be a vacuum leak somewhere around the engine.. hrm..

A vacuum leak would not go away after a few miles of city driving...sounds like a throttle body cleaning is in order with special empathsis on the IAC valve passage.

Make sure you spray the IAC itself too. Mine was all gunked up on the spring and it was sticking alittle. While your at it clean out the EGR.
