Default Running dual headlights

I bought 2 automotive relays and I was reading through my Haynes manual trying to figure out the electronics of the lights. I want to wire my highbeams so all 4 headlights shine. Has anyone ever done this?

ur gonna piss off alot of pple.....not sure about all saturns, but in my caddy, i head two bulbs on each side, dims and brights. so obviously, i had 4 sets of wires. To do this, all i had to do was splice the high beams into the low beams. If its the same on ur saturn, that may be all you have to do.

You might want to adjust the angle of your beams. but then, if your in need of your brights, you'd have to stop and re-adjust them.

Or you can wire in a switch that links them all together so you don't get that problem. But why would you want to do all that??? its not practical at all...

I think what he's talking about is having the low beams stay on when the high beams are on. I've noticed on my car when I'm turning on the highs, and the lows haven't shut off yet the lighting kicks ass.

There is a tech article on the web somewhere covering this. If I find it, I'll post it.

ok, I am going to see if I can explain this easy proceedure for doing this. All you gotta do is go to Raido Shack and buy 2 diodes. Tap a line off of the positive wire running to the high beams on each side. Tie the diode to the end of this line, and then tap in to the positive line running to the low beam. The direction of the diode should be as follows in the diagram below:

LB________HB
+___-|<-___+

Solder the diodes in on each side and use heat shrink or tape to cover any exposed leads. This should wrap it right up for ya. Enjoy!

I have heard of people using diodes before, but they couldnt find ones to cary enough voltage so they evenetually brunt out.

I tried using a relay once(w/o having access to wiring diagrams) and figured out the hard way that the headlights have the switch on the negative side of the circuit. Just something to keep in mind so you dont blow your fuses like I did.

A relay has nothing to do with your PCM, nor do your headlights. Your headlights are controlled by a mechanical switch. A relay is also a mechanical switch, it just happens to be turned on by electrical current instead of your finger.
