Default Service Engine Soon

It was bound to happen, with 111,500 miles on the car, the SES light finally kicked on though I notice nothing odd about driving the car, the power levels are the same, the only thing different is the cold air intake had its' first run in with rain these last few days. Tuesday it turned on, was raining wicked hard, Wednesday, it was off again. Yesterday morning it was off but it was raining, when I got into my car at the end of my work day, it was on again and it was on this morning though no rain, pretty dry actually. One other thing, the AEM has a funky location for the air temp sensor that kind of squishes it against the radiator hose, could the heat be screwing that up? Also the wires a little kinked.

Would the SES light go on for moisture in the intake? And is there an easy way to get at the codes it's throwing or do I have to bring it to the dealer and give them $75 to tell me what's wrong with my car? Talk about a racket, pisses me off, anyway, help would be appreciated, thanks.

Take it to your nearest Autozone and they should be able to check the codes for free. Then just post the codes here and someone should be able to help you with them.

Ahhh you should have a Chiltons book for every car you own anyway. They are great help and have alot of info. So if you do go to Autozone pic one up while you are there.

You can NOT pull the code yourself if you have a OBDII unless you have a code reader.

CAI wont suck in a lot of water unless you submerge them, though....

I dont have a bypass valve on my CAI and I had a month of rain (back in June) and this past week was hell for rain...NEVER had a problem with water...

But then again, the filter is inside the bumper, in front of the wheel

Autozone sucks they wont allow you to do a diagnostic because it is a liability for them to touch your car----what kind of world are we in these days---regardless it is a smog issue and most likely an o2 sensor, I still have to take my saturn to a local shop with the equipment to determine prob with mine, or pay autozone 150.00 no returns for the stupit equipment. Although it would be nice to have a diagnostics tool............
