Ok here's what I got at autozone's site for things to check for a power loss (i think that's what it would be called when I lose 500-700rpm randomly).

Priority Action Part Type Cause
1 Inspect WIRESET Damaged, worn, or deteriorating spark plug or coil wire(s).

2 Inspect SPARK PLUG Fouled, damaged or broken spark plug(s).

3 Inspect FUEL FILTER Clogged or dirty fuel filter

4 Inspect DISTRIBUTOR Worn, loose or incorrectly adjusted distributor.

5 Inspect DISTRIBUTOR CAP Loose or cracked distributor cap

6 Inspect DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR KIT Loose, cracked, or worn distributor cap and ignition rotor.

7 Inspect PCV VALVE Plugged or damaged pcv valve.

8 Inspect AIR FILTER Restricted or clogged air filter.

9 Inspect CATALYTIC CONVERTER Clogged, damaged, defective or faulty catalytic converter.

10 Inspect AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION Improperly adjusted kickdown cable adjustment or internal transmission problems.

11 Inspect FUEL PUMP Improperly functioning fuel pump or circuits.

12 Inspect M.A.P. SENSOR Improperly connected or faulty m.a.p. sensor.

13 Inspect MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR Improperly connected or faulty mass air flow sensor.

14 Inspect THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR Faulty throttle position sensor or throttle position sensor circuit.

16 Inspect FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE Incorrect fuel pressure being delivered to carburetor or fuel injection system

Everything is ok down to the pcv valve which I'm having problems with anyway. However the #4 spark tower does have some corrosion on it (which i sanded off cuz i didn't have a wire brush) how big of an effect could that have? And did I ruin it by sanding it?

I took it to auto zone and got the code read.

I don't have the # but he said it says that the EGR pressure sensor is out of range.

Clean out your EGR valve with some carb cleaner, and shake your PCV valve to make sure that it opens and closes easily.

How many miles are on your car? The coilpacks might just be tired and in need of replacing.

I got the new pcv and some high pressure vacuum line. The guy at auto zone said that if the valve was clogged it would have given that error. He was pretty sure it was the sensor and not the valve.

sc_2, if you got time next week maybe you could meet me at walmart in southington or something if you got a voltmeter and we could check the egr sensor signal. The guy said anything above .5 isn't normal.

I got don't want to spend $150 to fix something that isn't broken.

oh yea, and the car has 32K on it so I don't think the coil packs should be going yet, but I am going to clean off that terminal a little better.

Be back to let you guys know how it all goes in about an hour.

Suggested EGR senor repair: $170
1 foot of high pressure vacuum line: $.99
PCV: $2.49
Not jumping to conclusions and a little help from the man upstairs: priceless

Yup that's right. I put in the new PCV and vacuum hose and cleaned the #4 terminal with a wire brush.....the light was off before I got to the end of my street.

Ok so I want to here what you guys think and how this two different things could be related. Oh yea, the car still hesitates alittle but not as bad.
