irideflatland Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Prairie du Chien, WI Posts: 751	SL1 won't engage any gears I just bought a 98 SL1, manual tranny about a month ago. It was working fine until tonight. I pulled out of the parking lot and as I shifted to 2nd, I heard a clunk and my car was just in neutral. I can shift into any gear without pushing the clutch in, and nothing engages. I checked the cables going to the tranny, and they are working fine. So it has to be something else... any ideas?

Ssicarman Community Moderator Join Date: Jul 2002 Location: Canada Posts: 3,897	If the shifter moves the cables at the trans and they mopve the shift linkages that go into the trans then you likely have a clutch issue. Don't rule out broken/damaged axles or internal transmisson problems. __________________ A lousy day in Paradise is still a day in Paradise.
