i believe auto zone has quit checking obd 1, you just have to do it yourself. but if it is a fuel issue, on the gas line near the fuel rail (input line not return line) there is a cap you can unscrew and is a schreader valve there. if you can get a gauge to fit on there have someone turn the key on and see what kind of pressure you got. if no pressure or little pressure shows, proceed to cranking it. if it starts to build pressure slowly then starts its probably a clogged fuel filter. if pressure never builds or builds up and starts to drop or anything like that its probably the fuel pump. now thats all for only a fuel issue
now for your speedometer/odometer, it sounds like a speed sensor jumping teeth, speedometer cable problems, or gears inside gauge are going bad. if i remember right i think 96 and older cars use a mechanical speedometer, so i would more likely look towards the speed sensor and cable. |
