Default Sources of Radio Noise?

I have static in FM and alternator? noise in FM and CD. I have narrowed it down to either my radio or the engine...the charging system checked out ok.

I have 85k on my odometer, what sensors, relays, etc can I look at? I heard the Throttle Position Sensor may cause noise, anyone know...had this problem? It gets worst as the day wears on it seems (heat?).

Thanks

Chris

If the noise is just playing the radio then check the antenna lead at the passenger outer footwell. Just kind of behind above the outer kick panel the antenna lead has a joint that get unplugged. The factory radios usually don't give static problem other than this. After market? How are the grounds? The ignition system would the next thing to check and you've already doen the charging system.
Last thing--the TPS won't cause any noise over the radio.

Antenna is aftermarket and has a new line isolated from noise sources...that was the first attempted fix.

I tried muting plugs, all the grounds are good and there is no loops, I grounded everything to one spot outside the car's own grounds and still have noise.

I know it's either the deck itself or something under the hood....I just don't know where to start, it would be nice to have a second preout style deck to test the former.

Still have the old stereo? Does it have the same problem? Have you tried any stereo shops to see if they have any ideas?

Default radio noise

I know its hard to check but if a power cable is running parallel w/ one of your audio cables it could cause a humm. Beyond that I would say its the ground, but you said you already checked that.

I am going to try and make it ...it's been so busy here. Finally got my brake lines back, and one (the drivers) touches the strut...Techna-Fit is mostly unresponsive unless I pound on their door every 10 mins so I have it wrapped in wire loom and will check it periodically and see if any wear is being caused.

This radio issue is driving me nuts....definitely something in the headunit or engine compartment as I have isolated every other thing (no power wire crossing, no rca interference, amps are good, no ground loops, etc)

I also will need paint soon as the 'thinner' painted panels are starting to fade, so maybe in another year or two that, as well as an engine rebuild.

I am trying to find my girlfriend a job, so if anyone knows any Programming or Business Management positions open to a H1B visa let me know....she is fluent in Japanese also.

good to hear man, we hope you do make it, so far its really coming together to be a good time for all, anytime a show comes up, either sponsoring one or just going to one it always creates alot of tension, im always running around last minute with a million things to do, this time i did my best to stay on top of things and handle like a couple items each week beforhand so it didnt hit me at once, plus, right now ihave a crack team, no, not on crack, lol, ox and nick and billy have the place running SMOOOOOTH, so im able to be out there buying, doing the legwork for the show etc, this time im gonna really kick back and socialize with the folks.
