Stalling engine, P0442

Ok, I've had a minor issue with my 2000 SC2, manual tranny. Every once in a while when I come to a stop and put the car in neutral, the RPMs will drop down to next to nothing for a second and the car will feel like it is about to die. It quickly pops back up to normal, and repeats the cycle a couple times.

Additionally, I get a P0442 code (small-medium leak, EVAP system) pop up every few weeks (I clear the code w/ my scanner). I don't know much about EVAP systems -- could this be related to my loping idle?

Possible coolant temp sensor, dirty idle air control are at the top of a list of things to check.

Thanks for your advice. I will check the IAC and coolant temp sensor this weekend when I have the time. The problem is intermittent, but I'd hate to see it become worse.
