Default Starting problems

I recently added a set of struts to my 1993 sl2 and when i was about to take the car for a ride, i started the car and the starter didnt disingage. I turned off the car and tryed to restart it, it wouldnt start for a good 10-15 min. Then like nothing was wrong it started about 15-20 times no problem. I took the car for a ride and then let it sit for about an hour. I went back to start it and it wouldnt start. I decided then that maybe my alarm was malfunctioning so i took out the alarm, still no starting. I noticed that the ignition 3 fuse under the hood was blowing when i turned the key to the start position. And the reverse light fuse was blowing when i turned the key to the on position. After talking to a couple mechanics we decided the starter was bad, so i replaced that. Needless to say it didnt correct the problem. So i was forced to take the car to a mechanic. He dicided to replace the ignition switch wich didnt take care of the problem. Now we have no clue. The fuel pump turns on everything else works no problem except when you turn the key to start nothing happens! no crank no nothing! We inspected the wires under the dash, in the engine compartment and at bolth fuse boxes and everything looks fine. Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Did you get any wires pinched while doing the struts? Are the fuses still blowing? Get them figured out and you will likely have the problem solved.

we see ALLOT of this stuiff from aftermarket alarms, theres a good chance the alarm IS malfunctioning as you thought.
also, as tommy recomended, did you retrace your steps?
another thing we are seeing quite a bit these days as the cars age is the underhood junction box itself goes bad, costly new, we have them used if you can put your finger on it.
good luck, keep us posted.
