Default Starting problems please help

Alright heres the deal. 98 SC2 1.9 DOHC 5spd. Car starts fine and runs fine for about 5 minutes then it just shuts off. It shuts off like i turned it off with the key. When it runs, it runs beautifully like its new. But once it shuts off, it will not start again for about an hour. Then it will start again for about another 5 minutes and so on. After the car shuts off there is no spark. Ive checked everything that i can think off. Ive already changed the coil and thats not the problem. Ive checked, fuses, fuel pump, coil, battery, alternator..................pretty much everything i can think of. The only thing im not sure about is the relays and maybe the computer (i dont think thats what it is tho but correct me if im wrong). I have searched the forums and the only thing im coming up with is it may be the coolant temp sensor. My temp gauge does move eradically up and down but the car has never ran hotter that what it should. Also before i forget there is no check engine light. What i would like to know is what all controls the spark? I know that crysler vehicles shut off the spark when they loose fuel pressure. Is this true for saturns too? Im also pretty sure its not a battery problem too cuz after it shuts off i still have power to everything. But if they do loose a certain amount of battery power, will they shut of spark? Is there a clutch switch, if so could it be that? Something is obviously shutting off the spark. Could the computer cut off spark if it gets a bad signal? Sorry for all the questions. Im a do it yourselfer and i absolutely refuse to have anybody else do the work besides me. I have always done all of the work to all my vehicles no matter what the problem was but man, this has got me stumped. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx for space!

First thing that comes to mind is the crankshaft position sensor. It is what sends a signal to the PCM and ignition module that the crank is moving. No signal no no sprak no start. If that is not it then you have a poor connection somewhere--there is a lot of somewhere to look at. I would try the crank sensor as a first step.

Yep, thats what it was. Never would have guess it. But after learning how the sensor works it makes sense. Easy $13 fix. Thanx for the reply!
