Default Sticky Tach

Hello All,

I have a 97 SC1 - 210,000 Km (rolled over this am)

For the past few months the tachometer is kind of sticky.. It stops going up and down for a few seconds, then will move again.

The car runs just fine but the dial doesn't respond sometimes.

Is there possible a connector loose or worn? Any ideas, anyone had this before.

Thanks,

Scott

It could be the electric motor itself wearing out. Mine does the same thing in cold weather except it's my speedometer.

I would lean to the tach mechanism it self as well. The tach is a seperate replaceable item.

how easily can the tach be replaced? mine has been sticking too, usually in the winter but sometimes on warm days as well until the car is warmed up. I tried taking out the instrument cluster (opened the dash and everything) but it doesn't seem to want to fit through the opening without breaking.
