Default Stuipd damn drivers side window!!!

My drivers side window is hard to roll down, I have the crank windows not power. I hosed the window tracks on the door with silicone spray, and it didn't help at all. The handle has been making a clicking noise for a while when I roll down the window. Please help, this car keeps pissing me off more and more each day.

I'm going to take the door off and see if that's the problem. How do I get the window crank off?

You have to get a special tool for that.

The problem is not the rail or the track. The problem is the window regulator. When getting it replaced, make sure you don't get a Saturn part.

Watch out while taking your door panels off, if you can't get the locks and handle hooked up properly (and trust me, it is hard) then you'll be kinda screwed.

I find that most glass shops will give free estimates on it.

Let us know,

You can try lubing it. Yes you will need to take the outer door skin off to properly do it. Leave the inner door panel on. Depending on the year first take off the inner mirror trim panel. Loosen the small allen for the mirror adjuster and remove the panel. remove the small pushpin on the outer door handle, lift up and push it sideways to remove it. Next remove the outer belt moulding (the black window strip with the felt) Be carefull not to damage your door panel it can be tricky sometimes. Now remove all of the outer door panel bolts and I would advise doing it by hand and not power tools. I believe its a t-30 torque bit. Be especialy carefull on the bolts towards the hinges. On some older saturns the polymer panels can be brittle but I wouldnt worry if you do it by hand. Once you have the outer door skin off, look for rust on the regulator arms that criss-cross. That is the most common area where they will bind up causing the hard roll-up and down and NOT on the actual regulator splines. Give it a try and see if it helps. If not....time for a new one wich you need to remove the outer door panel for anyways (on 91-95) Good luck.

****! It always seems like when I get a little money saved up something always ****s up on this piece of ****. I'm still not too familiar what tis window regulator look like. Is it attached to the glass, crank, or what? How much does a window regulator run?

Woohoo!! I don't need a window regulator. I sprayed some silicone spray further down on the tracks and that seemed to fix it, works great now.

glad to hear it. Keep an eye on the regulator just in case though, They are pretty weak on our cars. Be gentle with the windows.

I've had the dealership look at my driver's side window twice, payed for them to lube it up twice, first with some grease (lasted 2 days) then with some long lastin stuff (lasted maybe a week). Then they decided that I need a new regulator.

So, hey, I'm gettin a free part.
