Default sunroof problem

Howdy do...

When I try to open my sunroof the left side rises up off of the track, the right side does not, then it makes a clicking sound and does not move. It does slide backwards about 1/4 inch before getting stuck. What would be the cause of this?

Rob

mine also did this then it indeffinatly broke and I had to jam it shut in order to keep rain from spilling through. has somthing to do with the motor and the lines that run from that motor snapping because of wear.

A stripped drive cable for the one side of the sunroof can make that noise. The track guide/arms and bits and pieces in there may be jamming on the one side to cause the motor to skip on the cable may be a possible as well.

Very few serviceable parts on the sunroofs. It can depend on the year as to what can be gotten. The motor and maybe the cables are normally availible. Beyond that you are likely looking at the entire sunroff module.
there are aftermarket places that will repair/rebuild then so try diggin around for them.
