The white wire coming off the DIS module under the coilpacks is the tach signal wire. You can splice (NOT CUT) into it there or at the PCM.

hey chris! good seeing you at the shop and house yesterday nice to see anothe rone of my conversions runing faithfully with no bull**** problems!
as far as the tach goes, gee, isnt it nice to get a straight answer (wolf) and not a whole SLEW of bull**** flames cause you want an aftermarket tach? that whole board is becoming nothing but flamefest.com

if you install an after market tach on a saturn, you have to get it calibrated by the maker to make it work right. if you don't ,the tach will only show half the rpm than it's supposed to show.i know because i tried to install an autometer tach on my 2001 sl2 and i got it to work except it was only showing half the rpm than it should.

I don't mean to sound insulting but...did you read the instructions that came with the tach? Most aftermarket tachs will work with a 4,6,8 and some even 10,12 cylinder engines. They just have either a switch or series of switches (DIP) that YOU have to set depending on the number of cylinders for the application you are installing it on...failure to do so correctly will cause the tach to "work" but read incorrectly.

wolf is correct, the back of most tachs, DO have settings on the rear or sides of them.
