Default Traction Control and ABS Light

I live in the lovely state of Wisconsin and the snow is a plentiful. My 96 SW2 has the Traction Control Package. Recently an interest problem occured. When I turn on my car, the traction is on and working quite well, for about the first minute. After that, the traction turns itself off and I have a bright orange light turn on on my dash that says "ABS" in the circular design. Anyone have any ideas on why this happens or how I can get it from not happening?

There's a problem with the abs system and its not working. Traction control uses the abs to work, so right now you have neither.

Yeah, the ABS / Traction works perfect inside of the first few minutes. After that, the light comes on, and it doesnt turn off. When I restart the car, it is on for anoter minute or so. Any thoughts? I think I am having problem with my O2 sensor, any relations?

On the same subject, does the ABS system throw a code when it has a problem. As in one that can be pulled like an OBDII code? My ABS light is on, and traction control doesnt work, but I know why... I have a broken wheel speed sensor, which I removed... need to get a new one and drill out the old piece. Need to get that fixed now that winter is here.

Without a code from the system it will be just about impossible to try and figure out the problem. Most likely cause is a wheel speed sensor or the wring to it.

Just so you are looking out for it and your not surprised, it is appearently impossible (or darn near) to get a wheel speed sensor out without it breaking. The plastic locator pin on the back of the sensor breaks off in the knuckle. No biggie, just drill it out, but I thought I would give you a heads up.
