| Tranny SES (formarly Grr...brakes) Ok tonight I decided to replace my horrid brake rotors in doing so found a crack in my pass front rotor, and shear'd the caliper pin on the driver side. Ok now I get it done do the test drive around the block and the SES light is on. Obviously I'm headed to Autozone to get the code read tommorrow, but am curious if it is something I should be concerned about. There also is a new click that I can hear and feel thru the brake pedal now, that wasnt there before, I looked and all looked good at the brake pedal and the brake fluid wasnt low and all looked fine.
Any thoughts?

| No ABS. The code came back to a Transmission Temperature Switch misread. Now I just have to find where this sensor goes.

| I can't find any info about it in the manual; only the wiring diagram. It shows 2 wires leading to the Trans Temp Sensor: a tan & white, and an orange & black.

| TTS is just above to the right of the trans filter. Unless there is a wiring problem there is a good chance that the problem is more with the engine temp sensor. The PCM compares the temp readings of the two sensors and can pop a code if things are to far out of wack. What was the code?

| I wana say the code was P0177 or something which has nothing to do with the tranny temp, I'll have it read again and write down the code this time. I'll also check out the wiring. Also the idiot light on the right side bottom one in the upper part keeps flashing occasionally, what is that light.

| Code 711. That was my tranny temp sensor. Mine went out because I was betting with the norm/perf switch, grounded it out, blew a fuse, and shot the sensor. See if you can get the sensor out, and check for resistance. You will be able to tell if it's blown. If so, just buy a new sensor. Whatever you do, don't be like me and let the shop do it. It cost me $100...then sensor itself from SPS'soem parts was like $3-$4. |
